Iron Horse Compression

Iron Horse Compression was incorporated October of 1988 by a group of Alberta businessmen with over 50 years of combined experience in the oil and gas industry.

The intent in forming Iron Horse Compression was to develop an improved design of the Beam-Mounted Gas Compressor. Using a beam-mounted compressor, operators can increase production and reduce operating costs on rod-pumped wells by drawing gas and gas pressure from the casing to allow additional hydrocarbon flow. This resulted in our introduction of the JACGAS compressor—the industry’s first fully certified, double-acting, non-lubricated walking-beam compressor, designed and engineeered in Alberta. These compressors are available in three sizes and with three different stroke lengths to optimize your well’s potential.

Iron Horse Compression (1996) Ltd. is a distributor for the Van Air Systems Inc. line of natural gas wellhead dehydrators, desiccants, filters, and separators. Van Air is recognized as a leading manufacturer of filtering and drying equipment for the compressed gas and air industries.

In August of 1999, Iron Horse Compression (1996) Ltd. purchased the Gas Pro walking-beam compressor line from Daval Industries. Although we have discontinued the manufacture of complete units, we continue to manufacture some parts and will continue to service this compressor.

As well, Iron Horse Compression (1996) Ltd. is a distributor for the Gator AVL (Gardner Denver) line of gas compressors for small-well head compression, packaged with electric or gas drivers ranging from 10-50hp and up to 600cfm/d. IHC will also package other brands of compressors as per your request.
