Rental Equipment CompressorsTitan 460 CompressorThe Titan 460 modified industrial Ford is an integral engine/compressor. Introduced in early 1997 the unit has proven to be a true leader in it’s class. The following data provides a general breakdown of compressor parts and components. Pressure VolumesCompressorTitan’s compressor head is designed specifically for natural gas with top loading valves and water cooled for longer valve life. The four valves installed in the head are dual suction/discharge, concentric valves. EngineBLOCK: The new 460 CID modified industrial Ford has a 4.360” bore and 3.850” stroke ENGINE POWER CURVE: 55 hp at 2100 RPM maximum brake horsepower cylinders 1 thru 4 are the power side. CYLINDER HEAD: High grade cast iron with mol-tungsten chrome alloy valve seats. Forged silchrome intake and tungsten-cobalt faced exhaust valves. PISTONS: Cast aluminum alloy. Top ring – barrel face moly filled cast iron. Second ring – cast iron. Third ring – oil control ring chrome plated steel three piece segmented. CONNECTING RODS: Forged I-beam CAMSHAFT: Five bearing, precision shell molded, cast iron MAIN BEARINGS: Steel backed over-plated copper/lead Lubricating System: Pressure to crankshaft main bearings, connecting rod bearings, tappets and camshaft bearings. Metered pressures to rocker arms, oil mist to piston pins and timing chain, timed stream to cylinder walls. Controls and Electronics: Murphy Mfg. Switchgauges, level controls and tattletales. Low oil pressure, low/high oil level and water temperature along with their tattletales are standard on all of our compressors. Electronic tach/hourmeters are standard. All engine components, such as distributor, coil, spark plugs, wires, solenoids, start switches and so on are Ford Motorcraft. The governor is belt driven. Carburetor and Propane System: The fuel system uses a regulated natural gas carburetor. The controls on the “Propane Warmup System” use a converter and 20# propane bottles as a standard item. These are used for trouble free starts in the field. |
